The Burn & Beyond

Care & Performance

Guidance on getting the most from your products, how they burn, perform, and settle into your space.

The Flame

Candle use & burning

Flame is where Atmosphere begins. Our candles are designed for a slower, more deliberate burn, one that builds, settles, and holds presence over time.

Let it open
Allow the first burn to fully reach the edges of the vessel. This sets the memory of the candle and supports an even, consistent burn.

Burn it slow
Short burns can create a well in the centre, affecting both performance and scent over time. Longer, unhurried sessions allow the wax to melt evenly and the fragrance to unfold as intended.

Keep it steady
Trim the wick to approximately 5mm before each burn. This helps maintain a calm, balanced flame, avoiding excess smoke or an uneven burn. If you see black smoke from the flame this means the wick is too long, however never trim the wick while the candle is burning, wait for it to cool before trimming.

Natural variation
With use, the wax may develop subtle discolouration around the wick, especially with wood wicks. This is a natural outcome of the burn and part of the candle’s character over time.

Let it rest
Allow the candle to cool and the wax to fully settle before relighting.

Mind the space
Keep candles away from drafts, direct sunlight, and heat sources, as these can influence the flame, scent throw, and the appearance of the wax.

Never place the lid on a burning candle to extinguish it, only replace the lid once the flame is out and the wax has fully cooled.

This is not a quick burn. It’s a slow release. Let it open, and it will settle into your space.

The Air

Diffusers, melts & continuous scent

Atmosphere doesn’t always come from flame. Some scents are designed to move quietly, through air, through warmth, through presence over time.

  • Reed Diffusers

Our diffusers are designed to release fragrance slowly and consistently. They don’t arrive all at once—they build, settle, and become part of the room.

Let it develop
Allow 24–48 hours for the reeds to fully absorb and begin diffusing fragrance.

Shape the scent
Use more reeds for a stronger throw, fewer for a softer presence. This allows you to control how the scent sits within your space.

Refresh the flow
Flip reeds periodically to revive the fragrance. For a more subtle, consistent experience, flip less often.

Placement matters
Position in areas with natural airflow, entryways, hallways, or spaces with movement. Avoid direct sunlight or heat, which can shorten the life of the fragrance.

  • Wax Burner Melts

Wax melts offer a more immediate release of scent, using gentle heat rather than flame to open the fragrance.

Let it fully melt
Allow the wax to liquefy evenly across the dish for a consistent scent throw.

Reuse with intention
Wax can be remelted until the fragrance fades. Once the scent has softened, it’s time to replace.

Remove safely
Allow the wax to fully cool and harden before removing. You can gently lift it out, or briefly warm the base just enough to release the wax, never pour hot wax down drains.

Keep it clean
Wipe the burner dish between uses to maintain a clean scent profile and prevent mixing of fragrances.

Mind the heat source
Tealight burners will produce a stronger, faster throw, while electric warmers offer a softer, longer-lasting release.

The Material

Leather care & maintenance

Leather is a living material. It softens, ages, and develops character over time. Our care products are designed to support that process—cleaning, conditioning, and protecting without overworking the material.

Start clean
Always clean before conditioning. Removing surface dirt allows balms and conditioners to absorb properly and perform as intended.

Use sparingly
A small amount goes a long way. Apply evenly with a soft cloth, building gradually rather than over-saturating the leather.

Let it absorb
Allow time for the product to settle into the material before use or wear. This helps avoid transfer and ensures an even finish.

Test first
Different leathers respond differently. Always test on a small, less visible area before full application.

Maintain, don’t overwork
Regular, light care is more effective than heavy, infrequent treatment. Leather responds best to consistency.

This is about preservation, not perfection. Let the material evolve.

The Body

Aftercare & skin ritual

Skin, like leather, responds to how it’s treated. Our aftercare products are designed to support recovery, calm the surface, and restore balance after more intense moments.

Apply gently
Use a small amount and work it into the skin with light, even pressure. There’s no need to rush—this is part of the reset.

Let it settle
Allow the product to absorb naturally. A light layer is enough to support the skin without overwhelming it.

Use as needed
Apply post-impact, after heat, or whenever the skin feels sensitised or in need of care.

Be mindful of skin condition
Avoid applying to open wounds or broken skin. If irritation occurs, discontinue use.

Consistency supports recovery
Ongoing care helps maintain skin health and resilience over time.

This is where intensity softens. Where the body returns to balance.
